USA: Household morale improved more than expected in December


Dec 9 (Reuters) – U.S. household sentiment has improved more than expected since the start of December, preliminary results from the University of Michigan’s monthly survey showed on Friday.

Its confidence index rose to 59.1 from 56.8 in November, while economists and analysts polled by Reuters had on average expected a figure of 56.9.

The consumer judgment component on their current situation increased to 60.2 from 58.8 and the outlook component to 58.4 from 55.6. (Laetitia Volga, editing by Kate Entringer)
