USA: Household morale is improving-Michigan

WASHINGTON, Oct 14 (Reuters) – U.S. household sentiment has improved more than expected since the start of October, preliminary results from the University of Michigan monthly survey showed on Friday.

Its confidence index rose to 59.8 from 58.6 in September as economists and analysts polled by Reuters on average expected a figure of 59.0.

The component of consumer judgment on their current situation rose more than expected here too, to 65.3 against 59.7 the previous month and 59.9 for the Refinitiv consensus.

That of the outlook, on the other hand, fell to 56.2 from 58.0. The consensus gave it a slight improvement to 58.5. (Written by Laetitia Volga, edited by Sophie Louet)
