USA: Lower oil and distillate inventories


(CercleFinance.com) – Stocks of crude oil and distillates fell in the United States last week, according to figures released on Wednesday by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA).

Crude inventories fell by one million barrels to 415.1 million in the week of January 28.

Gasoline stocks increased by 2.1 million barrels, while reserves of distillates, which include heating oil in particular, fell by 2.4 million barrels.

The refinery capacity utilization rate contracted to 86.7% from 88.1% the previous week.

In the oil market, the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) contract remained on the downside after these figures, losing around 0.3%, still below the $88 threshold.
