(CercleFinance.com) – Weekly jobless claims increased the week of July 4 in the United States, standing at 244,000, against 235,000 (revised figure) the previous week, according to figures from the Department of Labor.

The four-week moving average – which can be seen as a better indicator of the underlying labor market trend – also came out higher, at 235,750 from 232,750 a week earlier.

Finally, the number of people regularly receiving benefits amounted to 1,331,000 during the week of June 27 (i.e. the last week for which these figures are available), which represents a drop of 41,000 compared to the revised figure. of the previous week.
