USA: Sharper-than-expected slowdown in industrial production in May


PARIS, June 17 (Reuters) – U.S. industrial production growth slowed more than expected in May, official statistics showed on Friday.

The Federal Reserve reported industrial production rising just 0.2% last month after accelerating to 1.4% in April (revised from 1.1%).

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected May growth of 0.4%.

Manufacturing production contracted by 0.1%, against an anticipated growth of 0.3% and an increase of 0.8% in April.
