WASHINGTON, May 10 (Reuters) – Tesla will recall about 130,000 vehicles in the United States over an overheating problem that may cause the central touchscreen to malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA) said on Tuesday. ).

The recall affects all Tesla models manufactured in 2021 and 2022. The electric vehicle maker will operate an over-the-air update to fix the issue, according to NHTSA.

Overheating of the infotainment system’s central unit could prevent the central screen from displaying rear-view camera images, warning lights and other information, the US agency said.

Tesla recalled 48,000 Model 3 Performance vehicles in the United States in April for an issue preventing the speedometer from displaying when using the “Track Mode” feature.

In February, the company also recalled 54,000 vehicles with its full self-driving software due to a safety risk and more than 26,000 vehicles due to a software error that could lead to windshield defrosting issues. -broken.
