USA: The private sector created fewer jobs than expected in August-ADP

WASHINGTON, Aug 31 (Reuters) – The U.S. private sector created fewer jobs than expected in August, ADP monthly survey showed on Wednesday.

It identifies 132,000 job creations this month while economists polled by Reuters predicted an average of 288,000.

In July, job creations stood at 270,000, after a change in the calculation method which is now done jointly with the Stanford Digital Economy Lab. This now takes into account a new salary measure, as well as data for the last 12 years. (Written by Claude Chendjou, edited by Jean-Stéphane Brosse)
