USA: unemployment claims unchanged


(CercleFinance.com) – The number of unemployment claims did not change last week in the United States, but the stability was insufficient to call into question an underlying trend which remains downward in a still very tight labor market. .

These reached the number of 212,000 during the week of April 13, announces the Department of Labor, a figure unchanged compared to the figure of the previous week, revised up by 1,000 compared to 211,000.

The four-week moving average, considered a better gauge of labor market trends by smoothing weekly figures, also remained stable at 214,500.

The number of people continuing to regularly receive benefits increased by 2,000 to 1.81 million during the week of April 6.
