Usain Bolt: The ex-sprint star only trains when he increases

Usain Bolt has been an athlete for almost three years. Things have calmed down around the "fastest man in the world".

Former sprint superstar Usain Bolt (33) has apparently only exercised himself occasionally since he retired in athletics in 2017. Actually only when he starts to gain weight. The eight-time Olympic champion explained his new approach in the podcast "The Gist". "When I gain weight, I exercise. As soon as the weight is down, I stop," said Bolt.

"I always think to myself: 'You don't have to do this anymore.' (…) I've been training since I was about twelve years old, I've only ever trained, trained … ", explained the ex-sprinter. "Now I'm older and I just don't want to do anything anymore – but I still want to look good, so I train enough to look good too."

Usain Bolt: He became a father for the first time in May

Usain Bolt now has even less time for sport: in May he and his long-time girlfriend Kasi Bennett became parents for the first time. The athletics star shared the first pictures of his daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt last week for the mother's new birthday.
