The Komoot app is a navigation app optimized for hiking, running or cycling on prepared routes. As with Google Maps and other navigation apps, using Komoot can quickly drain your data quota if you are careless. Dead spots on routes off normal routes can also become a real problem for orientation.
Komoot therefore offers optional offline maps that you can download for a fee. Alternatively, you can redeem a voucher in the Komoot app. Once downloaded, you can use Komoot offline. We’ll show you how to use the offline function in the following steps.
To further conserve your battery when using the app, you should activate the “Wake up screen for notifications” option in the Komoot app. Alternatively, you can use Komoot on the Apple Watch or pair Komoot with your cycling computer.
You can also use Google Maps offline and it’s completely free.
