Used diapers in the mailbox – “Anyone who has diaper-age children is suspected”

Residents of the city of Uzwil have been surprised by an unpleasant situation when emptying their mailboxes in recent weeks. In addition to the usual mail, used baby diapers and sanitary towels were found. “We think that’s a bottomless cheek. I have two small children myself and I would never dream of disposing of a diaper like this, ”says MM, an affected resident.

The used items were also found in the hedge and in the garden. “I especially think the diaper in the garden is a cheek because my children stay there. I definitely don’t want them to play with feces, ”said MM in relation to 20 Minuten. Meanwhile, the resident is looked at strangely while walking. “Anyone who has diaper-age children is suspected,” she says.

An incident relating to baby diapers has been reported to the St. Gallen canton police. However, no complaint was filed. “We advised the woman that she should report to the police immediately if another diaper is improperly disposed of,” says Pascal Häderli, spokesman for the St. Gallen cantonal police. If a person were found, the possible consequences would be a fine for littering or a referral to the public prosecutor of the canton of St. Gallens. The canton police will increasingly plan patrol trips through the affected area.
