AMAZON ALEXA

Amazon’s language assistant Alexa lives in various devices in the smart home and is always on hand – but what happens if no WLAN is available? This can be done on the Echo without the Internet.

  • Alexa is the language assistant of digital service provider and echo manufacturer Amazon.
  • To get the help of the artificial intelligence, you need an internet connection.
  • But even without Internet and Alexa, you can continue to use Echo devices as Bluetooth speakers.

If your Echo device has no active internet connection, Alexa will remain silent. Because Amazon’s voice assistant needs an open channel on the web to be able to do its services. But are Echo speakers completely useless without voice control using the familiar Amazon AI?

Not at all – because you can still use the devices to play music via Bluetooth or with some models with AUX access. All you have to do is establish a Bluetooth connection with your mobile device or computer to the Echo device or wire the device accordingly.

In order to be able to use the full functional reception of your Alexa devices, however, you have to reconnect to the Internet. In addition to the classic WLAN, this is also possible via mobile hotspots, which you can set up using your smartphone. Be sure to check your remaining data volume.
