  • 200 grams of margarine
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 100 milliliters of milk
  • 300 grams of flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 100 grams of chocolate chips
  • 50 grams of walnuts (chopped; or hazelnuts)
  • 80 grams of chocolate couverture

Preparation of the banana cake:

  1. Beat margarine and sugar in a bowl with a hand mixer until frothy, gradually stir in the eggs.
  2. Peel the bananas and mash them with a fork. Stir the banana puree together with the milk into the batter.
  3. Mix the flour and baking powder together and then fold into the dough. Add chocolate sprinkles and nuts as required and pour the batter into a greased loaf pan. Bake the banana cake at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes.
  4. Do the cooking test with a wooden skewer: If no more dough sticks to the skewer, the banana cake is ready.
  5. Let the cake cool for 15 minutes, remove from the mold and then leave to cool completely on a wire rack. In the meantime, melt the couverture in a water bath and decorate the banana cake with it.

Banana bread without sugar

Ingredients for a banana bread without sugar:

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 grams of spelled flour or whole wheat flour
  • 100 grams apple pulp (or grated apple)
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • Approx. 50 grams of walnuts (or other nuts / kernels)
  • Optional cinnamon

Preparation:

  1. If you use an apple instead of applesauce, you should first peel the apple, core it and grate it finely.
  2. Mash the bananas with a fork in a bowl, add the eggs and beat everything until frothy.
  3. Now add flour, baking powder, apple pulp and, if desired, about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix everything into a dough.
  4. In the next step, fold in the walnuts and pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 180 ° C for about 45 to 50 minutes.

Homemade banana ice cream is perfect for overripe fruits. Preparation is quick and easy – and this is how it works:

Ingredients for 4 persons:

  • 400 grams of bananas (very ripe)
  • 1 lemon
  • 200 grams of natural yoghurt
  • 100 grams of powdered sugar
  • 50 milliliters of cream

Preparation:

  1. For the banana ice cream, first squeeze the lemon and peel and chop the fruit.
  2. Puree the bananas together with the lemon juice and yogurt.
  3. Add powdered sugar and cream, stir well and put the banana ice cream in a flat container.
  4. Freeze in the freezer for at least 4 hours and stir the banana ice cream from time to time so that no ice crystals form.
