An update has now taken place on V Rising and allows in particular to play in LAN, that is to say to launch an offline game directly at home with friends (or not). In short, the kind of game we would like to see at the ZLAN for example like Valheim at its peak.
What are the main changes in the update?
The main big new feature of this update 0.5.41448 concerns theadded mode without internet connection (LAN) which allows players to play V Rising without any connection. Players can enable this mode directly through the host game screen when starting a server. It is then possible to play it solo but also with friends who share the same local network! The developers indicate that this novelty will of course be refined in the days to come if there are bugs.
Here are the other notable new features of the update:
- The possibility ofsend server-wide messages : if a maintenance is performed, a warning message is sent so that players can get to safety (in the coffin for example). This feature can obviously be used for hosts to send important messages to other players.
- Fixed authentication error which prevented players from returning to certain servers,
- Fixed several bugs like soul shard which disappeared if placed in a container,
- Players can no longer send the same servant multiple hunts by placing multiple thrones.
- Steam Cloud : Can now store V Rising server history. Autosave is enabled by default.
- From server icons have been added next to the name of the official servers to facilitate their identification.

How to play V Rising in LAN?
To play V Rising without an internet connection, you need to follow these steps:
- Start Steam
- Go Offline on Steam (Steam -> Go Offline…)
- After that, you can disconnect from the Internet.
- Launch V Rising
If you are hosting a local server, you must start the server in LAN mode using the checkbox in the user interface or by starting the dedicated server with the “-lan” parameter. If you are connecting to a LAN server, you must check the “LAN Server” box in the “Direct Connect to Server” window or using the “ConnectLan” console command.
