Vaccination pass: should TousAntiCovid be updated?

As the health pass prepares to turn into a vaccine pass this Monday, January 24, many French people are wondering what will change in the TousAntiCovid application.

Downloaded more than 50 million times on smartphones and connected watches, according to the latest official figures transmitted by Cédric O, the Secretary of State for Digital, TousAntiCovid has become, since its launch in June 2020, the means most used by the French to show their health pass.

And in fact, users of the application will have absolutely “nothing to do”, explained the cabinet of Cédric O to RTL. The idea is to simplify this process as much as possible.

From January 24, the PCR and antigen tests of unvaccinated people will no longer be recognized by the TAC Verif (TousAntiCovid Verif) application which is used by the people responsible for checking the validity of a health pass. Only QR Codes linked to vaccinated people will be recognized, as well as those attesting to recent contamination (for people who have, for example, received two doses and who have contracted Covid-19 in recent weeks).

A system to also avoid fraud

The computer changes between the recognition of the health pass and that of the vaccination pass are taken into account by the computer servers used to recognize the QR Codes and their validity, it is explained. Similarly, TAC Verif users (in restaurants, at the cinema, shows, etc.) will simply have to ensure that they have the latest application update.

If this transition was thought out in this way, it is also to prevent a user of TousAntiCovid from claiming that he has not made an update to clear himself of any verification or problem during a check, in particular with the police, for example.
