Val-de-Marne Babies discovered in a freezer: the alleged mother indicted

The woman in her thirties, at whose home two newborn babies were found frozen in Val-de-Marne on Sunday, was indicted for intentional homicide on Tuesday in Créteil. “Both the results of the autopsy (…) and the statements of the respondent suggest a voluntary act”, had explained earlier in the day the public prosecutor.

The Crétail prosecutor’s office clarified that the autopsy did not confirm that the two babies were twins. The 30-year-old was placed under a warrant.

An alleged mother

Sunday morning, the companion of this woman, a policeman in his thirties, had warned the emergency services after discovering the bodies of two babies in the freezer at their home in Marolles-en-Brie.

The couple would not have children together. The woman in question is the mother of a child born of a previous union, according to the first elements collected by the Territorial Brigade for the Protection of the Family, in charge of the investigation.
