Val-d’Oise: a man found tied up in the trunk of a car chased by the police

Thinking they were dealing with a refusal to comply like the others, the police pursued a car which had refused to be checked in Val-d’Oise, during the night of May 3 to 4. The arrest took another turn when they found a man tied up in the trunk of the vehicle.

The suspicious car had been spotted driving at high speed in Eaubonne, a little after 2 a.m.

When the police from the Anti-Crime Squad (Bac) tried to stop him for a check, the car continued on its way.

According to information from franceinfo, the driver lost control of the vehicle when he arrived in Deuil-la-Barre, and hit cars parked along the road.

Screams from the trunk

The two men on board then tried to run away, before being caught by the police who proceeded to arrest them.

Meanwhile, other officers standing near the suspect vehicle heard screams coming from the trunk. They found the victim there, tied up but unharmed.

The man, butcher-caterer by trade, said he was kidnapped when he was alone at home, in Houilles, in the Yvelines.

According to his testimony, the kidnappers, known to the police, aimed to steal his warehouse, located in Deuil-la-Barre. The judicial police have been seized of the case.
