Valheim celebrates its first anniversary and continues its teasing of the next updates

Nobody expected such a craze when, on Tuesday February 2, 2021, Valheim appeared on Steam. Although highlighted upstream, especially during the PC Gaming Show, Iron Gate did not imagine seeing millions of players landing in the space of a few weeks on its survival game, who will therefore very quickly have caught the eye of many people. Within a few days, Valheim even became the sixth most played game in Steam history, in terms of concurrent users (498,478).

A year later, the game immersing us in Norse mythology has a very nice community, which impatiently awaits new features. At the beginning of the year, an update focusing on the mountains will be released, adding, among other things, dungeons within them. New images have been released, before we know a little more about its content and release date.

But what players are most interested in is, without a doubt, the new biome, the Mistlands. Originally scheduled to arrive in 2021, this unexpected success forced the developers to postpone some additions, in order to fully focus on various improvements and fixing problems. On the occasion of Valheim’s first anniversary, Iron Gate has chosen to highlight one of the creatures that will be introduced with the Mistlands. We have no name, only concept art:

Again, we don’t have a release date, but this update will arrive later than the mountain update. We should know a little more soon.

For the rest, know that this first anniversary will be celebrated in game, with ” fun things in the words of the developers. The perfect time to go back, if you have left Valheim in recent months.
