One of the interesting points of Valheim is that its map is discovered over time, since at the start of the game the whole world is covered by a fog that prevents you from seeing the different biomes, opening the map. This is revealed once you go there, which is a very nice principle, especially since it is possible to share your progress with your friends, through the cartography table.
However, out of simple curiosity or simply to make life easier in Valheimsome would like the map is fully revealedwhich is possible.
How to reveal your map on Valheim?
The easiest option is to go through the Valheim command and using a cheat code. To make it short, you will be able to open the command with F5 and have to type ” devcommands to enable cheat codes. Note that you must have activated the console before, in which case you will not be able to use this process.
Once the cheat codes are activated, you will be able to use the code “ exploremap to reveal the whole map and see the different biomes around you. To display the places, you must use ” printlocations to see which important points are close to you. However, it slightly spoils the experience, especially if it’s your first game.
You can then put your card back as when you spawned, with the command ” resetmap if you just wanted to get an overview.
Note that there is an alternative, which requires you to go to a third-party site, Valheim World Generator. This offers two features: display the details of your world, or generate a random world. This second option will be useful especially if you are looking for a special seed.
The first option, by indicating your seed in the search bar, allows you to see the layout of your world, while displaying points of interest, such as boss spawns, the potential merchant spawn or the location boss stones.
