Valheim reaches 10 million copies sold

Just over a year after its early access release on Steam, Valheim reached the milestone of 10 million copies sold, despite the slowdown in sales since the summer. A real success for Coffre Stain and Iron Gate Studio who specify that they have reached this milestone “just one year” after the launch, which would imply that the 10 million mark was reached in February.

If the records of simultaneous users may seem far away, the survival game can however boast of having nearly 95% positive ratings out of more than 290,000 reviews. And above all to have built up a solid community, ready to wait a long time between each addition of content.

“We never imagined that Valheim could grow so big, not even in our wildest dreams. Our team has doubled since launch and knowing that Valheim is loved by millions of players around the world honors and humbles us at the same time. Our ambitions for the game have never been stronger. »

Richard Svensson – CEO of Iron Gate Studio

In pursuit of its ambitions, the studio is currently working on a big game update, which should mark the arrival of a new biome, Mistlands. Even if no release date is yet planned, the update would be “on track” according to the developers. What to expect news in the coming weeks.
