Valheim: Update 0.210.6, the details – Valheim

The players of Valheim can benefit from a small update this August 30, allowing to correct some problems identified in recent weeks, in particular a crash causing, sometimes, the loss of the world. For the rest, some corrections have been applied, but also some improvements, as always. No major content is added and we still have no information on the next major update, which will add the Mistlands biome. However, we should know more soon enough.

Update 0.210.6 Valheim

• Added an auto-save system that will keep a 2 hour save and a 12 hour save by default and can be customized in miscellaneous settings. The default setting on dedicated servers is 4, which can be customized with new settings (-backups -backupshort -backuplong).
• The game will now save after you sleep, or at 30 minute intervals and this timer will reset if you use any of the console commands to save.
• Using the console save command now saves the character file.
• The Dedicated Servers PDF Manual has been updated with the new settings.
• World saving is disabled if the world file is corrupted or it is an incompatible world version and the game returns to the main menu. Dedicated servers will stop if the world is corrupted.
• A change to Steam Cloud saves to avoid a particular crash during saves that could corrupt the world save.
• The game reverts to a paused state if a multiplayer host is alone in a multiplayer session if all players leave (as was the case before).
• Players are now unable to create two worlds with the same name when Steam Cloud saves are active.
• Characters with the same filename will be hidden.
• Characters whose name differs from the filename will be displayed to differentiate renamed files.
• Local characters will now be deleted correctly if Steam Cloud is enabled.
• Fixed Hive hit visual effects.
• Removed ability to craft Midsummer items.
