Valneva: possible termination of the Covid contract by Brussels

(CercleFinance.com) – Valneva announces that it has received from the European Commission a notice of intent to terminate the supply agreement for its candidate vaccine against Covid-19, VLA2001, as it could do in the absence of marketing authorization (AMM) at the end of April.

The company has 30 days from May 13 to obtain marketing authorization or propose a plan to ‘remediate the situation in an acceptable manner’ and make VLA2001 available to member states that still wish to obtain the vaccine.

Following discussions to this effect with the Commission and the Member States concerned, Valneva will reconsider its financial forecasts for 2022. In the event of effective termination, the company would not be required to return the installments received.
