Valora now also relies on vending machines – deployment of 300 k kiosk vending machines throughout Switzerland by the end of 2022

Valora is pursuing its expansion strategy and is entering the vending machine sector. The deployment of around 300 k kiosk vending machines throughout Switzerland is planned by the end of 2022. The first will be placed this week at nine sites. By using vending machines, Valora wishes to continue developing the availability of its Foodvenience offer.

In addition to Autonomous Stores formats such as the cashless box or the hybrid 24/7 Store, Valora is now also relying on vending machines. The goal is to bring more convenience to the customer experience. Thanks to the new k kiosk vending machines, customers can stock up even when stores are closed at night. The assortment includes snacks and various drinks, as well as some non-food items.

Besides traditional vending machines, touchscreen vending machines are also used. By touching the surface of the dispenser, customers can place desired products in a basket and easily pay for them with just one tap. Payment is cashless or contactless in both types of distributors.

Based on experiences from the first nine sites, Valora will decide what type of distributor should become operational on the 300 planned sites. The k kiosk vending machines will be placed in front of the stores with and the k kiosk outlets.
