The most anticipated Steam Deck accessory that allows you to connect a screen to the console like a Switch will be delayed. This is what we know.
The famous Steam Deck docking station, which works a bit like the Nintendo Switch dock, will unfortunately be delayed on its initial release date.
Valve speaks on the Steam Deck dock
The reason given by the company is obviously the Covid19 pandemic which is resuming in China, more precisely the Chinese government’s Zero Covid policy which forces the closure of component factories. Good news though, this issue will not impact the production schedule or reservation of the Steam Deck itself.
More than a tool for an extra screen
In fact, this famous dock is more than just a tool for connecting a screen since it is a real platform / hub with fairly complete connectivity. USB-C, USB-A, Power and Ethernet port.

Note that it is in fact possible to connect a screen without this famous dock but the result is far from optimal and it is therefore better to wait for the official accessory to have a result that meets expectations.
On the other hand, Valve does not give any date for this Steam Deck dock and we will have to take our troubles patiently.
