Sadness and misunderstanding. Friday evening, in Wattrelos, in the North, 12 Restos du Cœur trucks were vandalized on the association’s logistics site. Trucks dedicated to the delivery of fifty centers. An act of vandalism which could have consequences for 40,000 people, who may not receive their food aid. Aurore Bergé, Minister of Solidarity and Families, expressed her indignation at the microphone of Europe 1, and assured that “if necessary, we will find exceptional financial support”.

“The state must be relentless”

“I share both the words of anger, consternation and indignation recalled by both the volunteers of the Restos du Cœur and the elected representatives of Wattrelos who discovered the facts”, insisted the minister first of all. at the microphone of Europe 1. “What is necessary is above all to ensure that both the investigation bears fruit and that an exemplary conviction can exist. It is a deliberate attack, since there, we tried to harm the restaurants. It is clearly attacking the most fragile, the most vulnerable, the most modest people”, lambasted Aurore Bergé.

From now on, the Minister of Solidarity intends to “find solutions. From Saturday, the services of the State took the attachment of the association, the Restaurants, the elected officials so that we can find substitute vehicles. we need exceptional financial support, obviously we will find it”, she assures. “You have to react urgently, because when you are a precarious family, you will not wait several days or weeks to benefit from this aid”.

For Aurore Bergé, “the State must be implacable in denouncing, and that justice must pass, so that we demonstrate that on these subjects, we do not let anything pass”. This Sunday afternoon, a crisis meeting is organized in Wattrelos. The Minister of Solidarity says she is “at their complete disposal”.
