Court demands disclosure of her therapy files

Vanessa Bryant has had two terrible years. The grief for husband Kobe and daughter Gianna weighs heavily on her soul, but the photos of the helicopter accident leaked to unauthorized persons have also left deep wounds. That’s why she’s suing the Los Angeles District. But now the court asks you to turn your inside out.
What else does Vanessa Bryant, 39, have to endure? The widow of basketball star Kobe Bryant, † 41, is expected to present her therapy files (from January 1, 2017 to the present day) to the court, where her lawsuit against the Los Angeles district will be heard from early 2022. The athlete’s widow wants to go to court because she sees the privacy of her family being violated by the publication of the terrible photos of the helicopter accident in which her husband, daughter Gianna, † 13, and seven other inmates were killed. The recordings are apparently said to have been made accessible to bystanders by employees of the responsible fire brigade and the deputies of the district ruler.
Vanessa Bryant: Therapy records should be available to the court in a timely manner
Vanessa believes the publication was, on the one hand, a violation of her constitutional right to control the deaths of her husband and daughter Gianna and, on the other hand, an intentional infliction of emotional stress. Your psychological condition is now likely to be affected even more by a request from the responsible judge. The 39-year-old “has (and continues to suffer) severe emotional stress” because of the dissemination of the photos of the crash site, according to the lawsuit.
Judge Charles F. Eick has ruled that Kobe’s widow and therapist must provide the district attorneys with the required therapy records by November 29, 2021. “We are pleased that the court approved our request for access to their medical records as it is a standard motion in legal proceedings where a plaintiff is filing millions of dollars in emotional distress lawsuits,” said Skip Miller, partner at Miller Barondess law firm and outside LA County attorney, in a statement to CNN. For Vanessa’s attorneys, however, requesting therapy records is an invasion of privacy.
Opposing lawyers force disclosure of the documents
At the beginning of November, the responsible judge had ruled that Vanessa did not have to undergo a psychiatric examination. The district, however, argued against it and insisted. An investigation is necessary to determine whether the plaintiff actually suffered emotional stress because of the photo leak and not only because of the crash.
“The county continues to have deep condolences for the tremendous grief Ms. Bryant suffered as a result of the tragic helicopter accident,” said county attorney Miller. Words that won’t comfort Vanessa. It demands justice and monetary compensation not yet specified.
The “LA Lakers” star Kobe Bryant died together with his daughter Gianna and other helicopter occupants on January 26, 2020 in a crash in Calabasas near Los Angeles. The process of disseminating the photos from the crash site is scheduled for February 2022.
