Vehicle transfer code: what is it and where to find it? : Current Woman Le MAG

When a vehicle is sold or given away, the former owner must declare this event to the National Agency for Secure Titles (ANTS). If he must provide several documents in order to validate the transfer of the vehicle, the seller must pay attention to an important detail: the transfer code. In fact, this code is used by the seller to finalize the procedure, but also by the new owner to be able to register the vehicle.

The transfer code made up of numbers and capital letters

A unique assignment code is issued for each new assignment declaration. It is made up of ten characters, alternating letters and numbers. However, this code has a particularity: it can only be obtained via an online request, and is impossible to recover once the request has been completed. Even when making a request to ANTS, it is impossible to receive it on a paper document, an SMS or an email. It is therefore important to note this carefully when finalizing the request.

Retrieve the transfer code during the last step of the online declaration

To retrieve the code, you must first connect to the ANTS website, then go to the “My Vehicle space” section. Click on “I am selling or giving away my vehicle”, then on “Add a request”. Follow the different steps on the screen until you reach the last section entitled “To finish”. A large rectangle with the words “Your request is complete” appears on the screen: it contains the file number associated with the request and the assignment code, written in red. So remember to note them carefully before closing the site.
