The theatrical release of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” will be postponed for several weeks in the USA.

Sony has announced that “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, the sequel to the box office hit “Venom” from 2018, will not be released in the US until later than previously planned. The blockbuster was supposed to start on September 24th. Now, however, the film will only be shown on the big screen on October 15th, as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”.

Postponed several times

Originally, the second part should come to the cinemas in October 2020. Due to the corona pandemic, the publication was later postponed to June 2021 and then to September 24, 2021. The German theatrical release is currently planned for October 21, 2021. It is currently not known whether the US shift could also affect movie theaters in Germany.

Its predecessor, “Venom”, grossed a little less than 730 million euros at the box office worldwide. In “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” Tom Hardy (43) will again be seen as the eponymous Marvel character. Also there are stars like Woody Harrelson (60), Michelle Williams (40) and Naomie Harris (44). Andy Serkis (57) directed the action blockbuster.
