(CercleFinance.com) – Veolia announces the launch of the world’s largest biorefinery project producing CO2-neutral bio-methanol from a pulp production plant in Finland.
Veolia will produce with Metsä Fiber commercial bio-methanol from bioproducts, by safely integrating into the paper pulp production process a process for refining sulphated crude methanol.
Industrial-grade, CO2-neutral bio-methanol represents a new sustainable fuel source to replace fossil fuels.
With an annual production capacity of 12,000 tonnes and commissioning scheduled for 2024, the plant will reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30,000 tonnes annually.
