Veolia reports a solid Q2, “success” of the integration of Suez

PARIS, Aug 3 (Reuters) – Water and waste management company Veolia reported strong second-quarter results on Wednesday, citing the “successful” launch of the integration of Suez and confirming her goals.

For the first half as a whole, Veolia generated revenue of 20.2 billion euros, up 46.2% at constant exchange rates compared to the first half of 2021, fueled both by the integration of Suez and organic growth.

“Compared to June 30, 2021 combined, 2022 revenue increased by +12.9% at constant scope and exchange rates”, specifies the group.

The group’s net current result was 528 million euros over the January-June period and the group’s consolidated EBITDA was 2.953 billion euros, up 6.1% at constant scope and exchange rates.

“Veolia once again achieved very good performances during the first half, with a second quarter following the same positive trajectory as that of the first quarter”, underlines the group’s general manager, Estelle Brachlianoff, quoted in the press release.

“The integration of Suez’s activities since mid-January has been carried out under excellent conditions and is already bearing fruit”, she specifies, stressing that their contribution in terms of turnover and synergies is ” the height of expectations”.

On the strength of its results, the group has “fully confirmed” its objectives for the whole of the 2022 financial year, and is still targeting organic EBITDA growth of between +4% and +6% as well as a net current result of 1.1 billion euros “despite the uncertain context”.
