Vergnet tackles the “fatal” character (unpredictability)

As part of the “Reconquest” initiated by the 3R Plan, in terms of R&D and Innovation, the Group is currently developing a solution to help network managers fight against the “fatal” nature of renewable energies.

Thus, VERGNET works in collaboration with weather forecast data providers in order to eliminate the so-called “fatal” nature of renewable energies, whose sources (wind, sun, etc.) are unpredictable.

In concrete terms, based on weather forecast data from

VERGNET’s ambition is to provide electricity network managers with precise electricity production forecasts for solar and wind power plants.

The objective announced here is the anticipation in values ​​and over time of a controlled production of renewable energy, useful in more ways than one:

• First of all, the fine exploitation of meteorological data associated with the management and maintenance of equipment will allow renewable energy sources to be better integrated into existing electrical networks.

• Then, it is the ideal complement to the Hybrid Wizard, VERGNET’s patented technology which controls several electricity producers in real time by maximizing the renewable share. Controlled renewable energy production is also suitable for the Group’s historical markets, namely island or isolated sites.

• Finally, offering controlled renewable energy production means giving electricity producers the possibility of reducing the spinning reserve of their production units (generators, etc.) and thus reducing the consumption of fossil fuels.

This service allows network operators to integrate renewable energy plants into their production schedule for conventional power plants (diesel, coal, etc.).

In order to bring added value to the entire market, VERGNET wanted this new function to be deployable on all ENR power plants, not just the power plants built by the Group.
