Verizon communications: Quarter in line, but forecasts disappoint


(CercleFinance.com) – Verizon on Tuesday reported results in line with expectations for its fourth quarter, but its forecast for fiscal 2023 came in well below consensus estimates.

The first mobile operator in the United States has unveiled this hand a net profit of 6.7 billion dollars for the last three months of 2022, an increase of more than 41% year on year.

On an adjusted basis, its profit was $1.19 per share, a performance in line with analysts’ expectations.

Turnover increased by 3.5% to 35.3 billion dollars, against 35.1 billion expected on average by analysts.

Verizon said it grew its mobile monthly plan subscriber base by 217,000 net subscribers in the quarter, its best performance in nearly seven years.

For 2023, the New York-based group said it is aiming for adjusted EPS of between $4.55 and $4.85, where the consensus so far has been for a figure of $4.99.

Following these announcements, the title Verizon fell back by 1.8% Tuesday morning in pre-market quotations.
