Celebrity couple celebrates their tenth wedding anniversary

On September 27, 2014, Veronica Ferres and Carsten Maschmeyer married. Ten years later, they are still each other’s “biggest support.”
Carsten Maschmeyer (65), who has been an investor in the Vox founders’ show “The Lions’ Den” for years, likes to call his wife Veronica Ferres (59) “my lioness”. The actress, in turn, has already described her husband as her “number 1” and “greatest love”. A great love that celebrates its tenth marriage anniversary on September 27th.
Ferres and Maschmeyer have been in a relationship since 2009, and five years later the two married with around 150 guests in Nice, southern France. “I would do it the same way again. Same location, same flowers, and above all, the same woman,” the entrepreneur enthused in 2020 Interview with the magazine “Bunte” about his wedding on September 27, 2014, the “highlight” of his life.
Difficult path to patchwork happiness
Both partners brought children from previous relationships into the marriage: Maschmeyer’s sons Marcel (34) and Maurice (31) come from his first marriage. Ferres and her ex-husband Martin Krug (66) have their daughter Lilly Krug (23), who, like her, is an actress. With the three of them now living all over the world, the couple have grown together to form a model patchwork family.
“Together we have already achieved so much. I love our blended family and the life we have built together,” wrote Carsten Maschmeyer on Instagram for his wife’s birthday on June 10th. The large family now also includes her (step)children’s partners and her two grandchildren. Son Maurice got married shortly before his father’s tenth wedding anniversary – and of course posed for the wedding photo with his dad and stepmom.
However, relationships within the family were not always so harmonious. “Our children were against their new partner. For the first four years, my two sons didn’t accept Veronica and Lilly didn’t accept me,” reported the financial expert 2018 in the “Bild” newspaper. Only with a child psychologist was it possible to resolve the children’s rejection. “It’s beautiful today. We love all three equally. And the boys love their sister – they even comfort each other when they’re heartbroken,” emphasized Veronica Ferres in the joint interview.
The couple repeatedly proves how close they are to their stepchildren with posts on Instagram. “You are a true ray of sunshine for the people in your life and I am grateful to be your bonus dad,” Maschmeyer dedicated Lilly Krug on Instagram kind words for your birthday. Wife Veronica referred to his son Maurice online as “my big one”.
Pill addiction put a strain on love
One circumstance in particular put the then young love of Veronica Ferres and Carsten Maschmeyer to the test. In 2021, the business mentor made public his pill addiction, which began in the winter of 2008/2009. Ferres didn’t know at the time whether and how the relationship could continue after his addiction therapy, she reported to Johannes B. Kerner (59). in his talk show “Best Cast”: “I said back then: We are no longer together as husband and wife, but I will guide you through it like a sister.”
But love withstood this strain and Maschmeyer managed to break free of addiction – especially thanks to his partner. “The only anchor and bright spot was my Veronica,” he recalled in a post back to his addiction, the “lowest point of my life”.
Tenth wedding anniversary will be special
15 years later, the couple’s love is stronger than ever. Carsten Maschmeyer therefore wants to celebrate the tenth wedding anniversary with a big surprise for his wife, as he promisingly told the news agency spot on news: “Anyone who knows me knows: I like playing with numbers. The tenth wedding anniversary is quite something. ” Because he is a “man of numbers”, he also proposed to Veronica Ferres on November 11, 2011. “You can’t find another date that shows she’s number one six times.”
The “DHDL” star has a big wish for the future with his Veronica, as he revealed in the interview. “What I wish most is that we have more time for each other despite the many professional tasks. Veronica and I have a marriage of equals. She is my greatest support and I am her biggest fan.”
