During this interview, the actress would have declared in particular that she needed 10,000 euros per month to live because of her many expenses, which she later denied. Targeted by numerous criticisms on social networks since the publication of this interview, Veronique Genest decided to make a point by posting a message on Twitter Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Specifically, the actress, now 66, explained the sad reasons why she no longer needs such a monthly sum of money today. “That (needing 10,000 euros, editor’s note), unfortunately it was more than 6 months ago when my pretty mother was still living and I had to pay for his supposedly top-of-the-range nursing home… named ORPEA. I would dream of having to win all this again, it would mean that she is still there. Move on, there’s nothing left to see“, indicated the actress, with her usual outspokenness. As a reminder, Veronique Genest’s mother actually died in February 2022. At the time, she was paying between 5,000 and 6,000 euros per month for the nursing home in which her mother lived.
Véronique Genest: “For now, I’m into theater”
In the same interview given to Paris here, Véronique Genest had also mentioned the low pensions affected by the actors. “(They) are not up to the time they spend working. They are minimal. Unemployment is capped, not huge. But I never complained. I said it was difficult for actors but that I was lucky, I have possessions and savings, but they won’t last forever“, she had underlined. Even if she could retire, Véronique Genest does not yet seem ready to give up her job. “I’m hyperactive but I always wanted to be an actress. I am writing a series. For now, I’m into theatre. Creation, festival, school, transmit: this is what brings me the most satisfaction“, she had revealed.
