very bad news for fans

Readers of the Dragon Ball Super manga may not really like the news we have just learned. Soon, we will have to be patient before we see what happens next.

Yesterday, at 4:00 p.m., the new chapter of Dragon Ball Super was released in V-Jump magazine. It marks the “climax” of the Super Hero arc, so suffice to say that it was eagerly awaited. When we see him, we obviously think of Akira Toriyama, who died on March 1, 2024 at the age of 68. His work continues with Toyotarō at the helm, but all is not rosy on this side. Indeed, the manga will soon be put on pause. Until now, we already knew about it, but worrying news was added to that.

Dragon Ball Super is paused… indefinitely

Yes, you may have missed the information, but V Jump recently confirmed that Dragon Ball Super was going to be paused in April. The reason was not given, but for fans, it could be due to two things: the death of master Toriyama, the most likely option given that it was his student who took up the torch. That said, it also happens when a new arc is approaching, just to prepare the ground correctly. One thing is clear: patience is essential. However, there is a catch to all this.

From what we understood, Dragon Ball Super was going to return in May 2024, at least. At least, that’s what the MANGA Plus site told us. But he finally went back, and no longer shows that it will resume in two months. Obviously plans have changed. From now on, the manga is on hiatus…indefinitely. A terrible situation for fans who were eager to discover the sequel. Now we just have to wait, but who knows how long it will last?

This is reminiscent of the One Piece manga, which is also going to take a little break, but for three weeks. The difference here is that the author has explained his reasons, and we have a return date. In the case of Dragon Ball Super, we are in complete limbo. It would be strange not to have further information from the author himself, or from Shueisha, the publishing house of V Jump. For many, there will be a speech in the coming weeks. We will say that it costs nothing to hope.
