very bad news for the next game in the series!

The Assassin’s Creed series is reportedly going downhill and would have to review all its plans, that doesn’t bode well for the license and yet, it’s not even Ubisoft’s fault!

Ubisoft still has a whole bunch of cartridges in its pockets. The publisher intends in particular to capitalize as much as possible on its flagship series, Assassin’s Creed. Many games are planned for the more or less near future and we will even have the right to a hub to centralize all of the big future experiences. Lots of projects, lots of ambition, but which have just fallen into disarray and it’s not even Ubisoft’s fault.

One of the next Assassin’s Creed games would be in the sauce

According to the very serious Reuters site, there is trouble at Tencent, the Chinese giant present absolutely everywhere in the industry. The juggernaut is reportedly reshuffling its troops to focus on in-house games, instead of simply helping foreign productions. With the latest government decisions, which have drastically reduced the firm’s revenues, and the competition which is multiplying at high speed in the mobile gaming market, its goose that lays the golden eggs, Tencent is tightening the screw.

This involves internal restructuring and better management of its resources, thus, the Chinese ogre would have, according to Reuters, moved more than a hundred developers currently working on Assassin’s Creed Jade, towards other more lucrative projects for him. Because yes, Tencent, or rather Level Infinite, is developing the next big mobile game in the franchise with Ubisoft. Far from being a small experience to do on the go, Assassin’s Creed Jade is a REAL, very ambitious open world game. We were also able to discover it following a big wave of leaks last year, although since then, the game has certainly evolved.

Jade! Help !

Unfortunately, we will still have to wait before we can officially find out. According to the latest information, Assassin’s Creed Jade was expected to be released this year, even if Ubi has never confirmed anything, but following recent events reported here, the game will ultimately be delayed. According to Reuters sources, Assassin’s Creed Jade would not be released before a good 2025. It is therefore Assassin’s Creed Red, which should be the next game in the franchise to land, and on consoles and PC this time. But again, if according to very reliable insiders the game is set for 2024, Ubisoft has not revealed anything. We are still in the fog.
