“very disrupted” traffic in Ile-de-France transport on Thursday

The RATP has communicated its forecasts for the ninth day of mobilization against the pension reform, this Thursday, March 23. The traffic will be “very disturbed” on almost all lines of the Paris metro. One out of two RERs will run on lines A and B.

The FO-RATP union, the first among metro drivers, had called for Thursday “a dark day” in transport after the use of 49.3 by the government last Thursday to have the pension reform adopted without a vote in the National Assembly.

Only the automated lines (1 and 14) will operate normally. On the other lines, the trains will run at variable times during the day, at the rate of one train in two or three. Some stations will be closed.

Rail traffic “highly disrupted”

Lines 7, 7 bis and 9 – in addition to lines 1, 14 and 4, which are partially automated – will operate at the usual times, but with one in two trains. All other lines will close from 7.30pm or 8pm and on many trains will only run during peak hours. Line 10 will only be open in the morning, between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

On the bus side, 80% will be in circulation and 90% of trams, on average.

Regarding rail traffic, the SNCF, which will only communicate its forecasts on Wednesday, has already warned that traffic will be “very disturbed” THURSDAY.

The RATP invites “all travelers who have the opportunity to favor teleworking or to postpone their trips on the network” for Thursday.
