very good news for fans

After a very convincing first season released in early 2023, the arrival in 2025 of the highly anticipated season 2 of The Last of Us by HBO is becoming clearer.

While filming for season 2 of The Last of Us is in full swing, Deadline tells us the release window. Although you will have to be a little patient to find Joel and Ellie this time on HBO Max, their return appears to be rather close.

The release of season 2 of The Last of Us is getting closer

Unfortunately, we will have to do without the broadcast of the adaptation of The Last of Us Part 2 on Prime Video. With HBO’s subscription service arriving in France on June 11, it’s there that we will be able to see what Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann (co-president of Naughty Dog) are preparing for us. Expected in 2025, season 2 would arrive according to Deadline during the first half of it. We will have to wait for an official announcement to know exactly when in this time frame.

Given the fact that the teams are currently filming, the return of The Last of Us to the small screen is slowly but surely getting closer. We were notably treated to two official images representing Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsay). Via stolen footage, we also got a glimpse of Dina (Isabela Merced). The start of the second opus of the flagship franchise therefore seems to be in the spotlight for the moment.

Even though we know that this season 2 will not cover the game as a whole, a certain Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) should also make an appearance. We are not going to dwell on its essential role in this revisitation of the poignant story of this Naughty Dog masterpiece. See you for this (possibly with a few tissues on hand, just in case…) during the first half of next year.
