She was transparent. It was in July 2021 that Valérie Pécresse formalized her candidacy for the next presidential elections. Since then, like all the candidates, she has chained public appearances and in particular a big campaign rally on February 13th. This Wednesday, March 23, she was the guest of Cyril Hanouna on the Face à Baba set on C8. The opportunity for her to confide in her private life and in particular sexual assault which she suffered in her youth. “I was 22“, she first started. “It’s something that I took a while to talk about because I think there was a kind of post-traumatic stress”, she continued before asserting that this attack was “the end of recklessness”. The reason ? “Before, I wore short skirts, I didn’t mistrust anyone, I trusted“, she remembered. Subsequently, Valérie Pécresse gave details: “I was going to a friend’s house. I arrived in front of the building, typed in the code and opened the door. There was a guy who was behind me, we went back together”, she said before adding, without language of wood and with a lot of emotion: “He jumped on me on the stairs, I screamed”. A shocking revelation.
A terrible moment. Facing Cyril Hanouna, the presidential candidate remembers the day when her life changed. “I had a stroke of luck“, she assured. The reason? The friend she was going to heard her scream. “He opened the door, he rushed over and the guy ran away,” she continued before adding that, despite the trauma of this evening, she considers herself lucky. “Nothing terrible happened, just it was a shock to tell me that the other in front of me can be an aggressora guy who can rape me”, she assured. The opportunity for her to speak to girls who have been victims of similar attacks. “I know that many women and girls have experienced or are experiencing this, and that many, like me, have not dared to talk about it“, she confided before adding that she did not dare to file a complaint. “JI’m mad at me today, because maybe this guy started again. But at the time, I blacked out, I wanted to turn the page quickly and not talk about it anymore“she concluded, still very upset by this attack.

Since she formalized her candidacy for the presidential elections, Valérie Pécresse has been interviewing and confiding. On the set of BFMTV on February 23, she had already mentioned her assault. “I did the stupidity that many young women do, naive, candid, who believe that humanity is good“, she had initially confided. Subsequently, she had also mentioned the fact that she regularly wore skirts and that, even if she had “the immense regret“of never having filed a complaint, she was above all afraid of being”accused of having provoked this attack myself because of my outfit“, she had concluded.
