“Very realistic”: this film from the Harry Potter star is validated by a survival expert

Discover an adventure and survival film with Daniel Radcliffe whose scenes have been validated by a survival expert: Hazen Audel, who crossed 800 km of unexplored Amazonia.

Is it easy to survive in the middle of the Bolivian jungle? No, the film Jungle with Daniel Radcliffe is the pure and simple demonstration of this. But did you know that the difficult scenes in the film have been validated by a survivalist expert?

In Jungle, we follow a group of adventurer friends (including Daniel Radcliffe) who set out to explore the Bolivian jungle to find a tribe living as recluses from the world. They are accompanied by a somewhat self-appointed guide named Karl (Thomas Kretschmann, recently seen in Indiana Jones 5), who will escort them to this inhospitable and largely unexplored place.

The scenario is inspired by a true story, and more precisely the memoirs of Yossi Ghinsberg entitled Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival. We learn in particular that he was stuck for three weeks in this hostile environment and that by his own admission, he considers himself a miracle.

Jungle is directed by Greg McLean, who directed the two films (and the excellent series) Wolf Creek, as well as the horror film The Belko Experiment, written by Guardians of the Galaxy’s James Gunn. He filmed his feature film in 26 days, not in the Bolivian jungle but in Australia.

Survivalist expert Hazen Audel, notably presenter of the show À l’proof d’une tribe, broadcast on National Geographic and available on Disney+, saw extracts of jungle films for the channel Insider and gave his verdict by giving Jungle the highest score:

Everything I saw [dans les extraits] was very realistic, I understood why they did what they did, I will rate these excerpts 10/10.

In the video, the survivalist gives details of several scenes which according to him reflect the reality of what can really happen on the ground. A validation that makes Jungle’s vision even stronger. The film is not available on platforms but on physical media and on VOD.
