Vespa will launch a second 50 cc electric scooter which corrects the main flaw of the first

The Italian brand will market electric versions of the Sprint S and the Primavera. In 50 cc equivalent, they will be equipped with a removable battery. A more than welcome improvement compared to its very first model, the Elettrica.

At the Milan Motor Show, Vespa announced the arrival of an electric Sprint S and Primavera. Offered in addition to the thermal versions, these new products will lend a hand to the Elettrica, the only electric scooter currently available from the Italian brand.

In 100% electric, the Sprint S like the Primavera will offer the choice between two versions. The first will be limited to 45 km/h and will therefore belong to the moped family. More powerful, the second version will be approved in a higher category. Vespa does not go into detail, but everything suggests that it will be a 125 equivalent.

The most powerful electric versions will have a fixed battery, like the Elettrica. On the other hand, the battery of the 50 cc equivalents will be removable! An essential feature for city dwellers, most of whom do not have access to a parking space with a socket.

The characteristics of the electric Sprint S and Primavera have not yet been communicated at this stage. Power, battery capacity, autonomy, performance: we know almost everything about these two new features.

Vespa has also given neither launch date nor prices. Given the positioning of the Italian brand, it is almost certain that the electric Sprint S and Primavera will not be the most affordable scooters in their category. They will undoubtedly make up for it with a higher quality finish than their Chinese competitors.

Also new for the Piaggio 1

For those looking for a more affordable electric scooter, Piaggio markets the 1, a small, unpretentious model that evolves slightly. The new vintage gets a little vitamin treatment and becomes a little more efficient.

The base version’s engine sees its power increase from 1.34 to 2.2 kW peak, with better acceleration as a result. The Piaggio 1 Active remains at 3 kW peak, but is also a bit faster when accelerating.
