As we know, the League of Legends transfer window is full of surprises with unlikely transfers who are like the famous roleswap of Luka “Perkz” Perković on the botlane to welcome Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther. Other transfers are sometimes close to being made but fail at the last moment. Vetheo at MAD Lions
MVP of LEC’s Spring Split this year and without a contract following the sale of the Misfits slot to Team Heretics, Vincent “Vetheo” Berrie was the center of attention on the midlane in Europe. Unsurprisingly, many teams were interested in the French player whose excel, which he eventually joined. However, at a certain point in the transfer window, Vetheo would have had the opportunity to join MAD Lionswhich he decided not to enter.
The Carzzy – Upset swap between Fnatic and Vitality
The two players have lived a diametrically opposed year. The now new ADC of MAD Lions disappointed in 2022 and did not confirm its good year 2021. Logically, Vitality decided to part ways with its ADC for 2023. On the other side, Elias “Upset” Lipp see you again proven to be among the best in his position and finds himself in the list of players without a starting position for 2023.
The reason for this failure comes from the fact that, despite the agreement reached between Fnatic and Vitality for an Upset–Carzzy exchange accompanied by a sum of money, Carzzy ultimately refused to join Fnatic to return to MAD Lions. This all resulted in a domino effect that left Upset on the sidelines for LEC’s Winter Split.
Sadly the circumstances around this off season did not allow me to go to one of my desired places to compete. I will be grinding a lot of soloq here and in korea in the new season and probaly gonna stream quite a bit of it. I am confident in my return in great form.

Rekkles in support position at MAD Lions
Whether Martin “Rekkles” Larsson returns to Fnatic marked the European transfer window this year, it could never have happened. While the ADC transfer window was in madness following to the domino created by Steven “Hans Sama” Liv and his choice to join G2 Esports, Rekkles still had no serious contact to return to the LEC.
In fact, he had, as previously announced, open to proposals to play as support. It seems like this change of role interested MAD Lions for some time even if the structure preferred to turn to another choice after a few exchanges.
Kiin at MAD Lions or KOI
MAD Lions was involved in many issues on this transfer window and in particular on the top lane side. Following the poor performance ofIrfan Berk “Armut” Tükek, MAD Lions wanted to make a change and turned to Asian profiles. If they finally opted for Kim “Chasy” Dong-hyeonthe name of Kim “Kiin” Gi-in was mentioned. KT Rolster’s current toplaner has been of interest to Europe for a few years but never materialized.
In addition to MAD Lions, KOIwho took over the place of Rogue, leaned on the profile of the South Korean to replace Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu. In the end, Kiin did not join either of the two European teams, probably because of his substantial salary and the constraints to bring him.
