Like every year, the Telethon returns to France 2 and France 3 on Friday December 8 and Saturday December 9. A tradition in which many artists and public figures take part in order to launch appeals for donations throughout France and raise the funds necessary for research into genetic neuromuscular diseases. A new edition, the 37th, for which the singer and sworn The Voice, Vianney, agreed to become its godfather. Although he has already participated twice, in 2016 and 2020, he has never taken on this role yet.
It’s in the columns of the magazine Leisure TV published this Monday, November 27, that the 32-year-old artist revealed the reasons why he embarked on the adventure. Very personal reasons of which he confides some details: “ I try to be an invested sponsor in terms of time and heart. I’ve had the desire in my body for a long time, but this year, it’s special, since I suffered a loss which gives me a lot of strength» he explains to our colleagues. He then continues by talking about this mourning experienced this year: “ My partner’s mother was ill. She had multiple sclerosis and was disabled. She left this year. This pushes me even more to get involved.»

This is not the first time that the artist has spoken about his partner’s mother, cellist Catherine Robert, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2016. So the timing was perfect. I now have a little more time for mine, for my studio projects, but also for these associations that I want to help“. A decision fully supported by his record company: “I discussed it with my record company because we are releasing an album at the same time. So that’s time I’m not spending on promotion. I am surrounded by people who are very human and who have completely followed my approach. They never tried to distract me from this mission“.
