Vice-Versa: a series derived from the Pixar film soon on Disney+

Pixar has not finished exploring the world of human emotions. After the film Vice versa and its sequel, currently in theaters, the animation giant has already put together a spin-off series, which will arrive on the Disney+ streaming service in spring 2025. Pixar boss Pete Docter has also provided some details on this subject.

Head to the land of dreams

In the first Vice versa, Joy, Sadness and Bing Bong pass through the land of dreams, a place that looks like a movie studio in the head of young Riley. It is this world that the new series should delve into, which Docter described as finished and ready to be released on the streaming platform next spring.

“Remember that in the first film we go through the world of Rêves Productions to see how Riley’s dreams are made? That explains a little why they are so strange”declared Docter on the microphone ofEntertainment Weekly. “We continued to explore the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking lives. It’s a pretty cool concept.”

It is not yet known whether this series will take place in Riley’s head or that of another character, but the success of Vice-Versa 2 at the cinema in any case suggests that the emotional lift of these films is not about to be put out of service at Pixar, whether in the form of a feature film or a series.

Vice-Versa 2 is indeed a hit for the animation studio. The film, which we really appreciated at the Digital, collected nearly $155 million in revenue for its first weekend of operation in North America, and $295 million worldwide. By shattering the studio’s expectations, the saga Vice versa therefore seems to ensure a comfortable future at Pixar.

Series Vice versa will be added to the list of spin-offs of great Pixar successes that the studio has put together for Disney +. After Monsters & Co: at work, Welcome to Doug or the numerous short programs from the world of Toy Storythe platform has not finished asking Pixar to provide it with content.

We are also impatiently waiting Win or Losea completely original animated series which should be broadcast by the end of the year on the SVOD service.
