The 36th ceremony is broadcast on Friday February 12, 2021, on France 2, at 9:05 p.m., live from the Seine Musicale. Despite the immensity of the room, no public will be present, pandemic requires. The evening will be presented by Stéphane Bern and Laury Thilleman. Some personalities refuse to attend this kind of event, such as Mylène Farmer or Benabar. An average age of 26 for the female artist
This year one of the big favorites is Benjamin Biolay. The 48-year-old singer and actor, who already won the Victory for Male Performer of the Year in 2010, is nominated in three categories: Male Artist, Best Album with Grand prize and the original song with How is your pain? Others nominated in the male artist category include Gael Faye and Vianney, one of the new jury members of The Voice. On the side of the singers, Aya Nakamura, Apple and Suzane are nominated this year in the female artist of the year category. Enough to rejuvenate the ceremony with an average age of 26 years.
Many other artists are nominated in different categories. To succeed Alain Souchon for the album of the year, in addition to Benjamin Biolay, are also selected Julien Doré, Gaël Faye, Grand Corps Malade and Ben Mazué. And not to depart from tradition, a Victory of Honor will be awarded to Jane Birkin for her entire career. With the current epidemic context, certain categories will not be presented. "The ceremony as a whole will therefore give pride of place to live performances with sequences specially created for the occasion ", Romain Vivien, President of the Victories, explained to France Info TV.
