This video comes on the hundredth day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, recalling another message filmed by Mr. Zelensky on February 25, the day after the entry of Russian forces into Ukraine, at the same place and with his collaborators, to reassure the Ukrainians.
“We are all here, our soldiers are here, the citizens, society, we are all here to defend our independence, our state,” Mr. Zelensky said at the time.
“Nothing will make our dead”
The mayor of kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, on Friday denounced “a special genocide” by Russian soldiers against the Ukrainian civilian population.
“We don’t want 100 more days of war,” Klitschko said in a video posted on social media.
“Nothing will restore our dead and repair the souls and bodies of the wounded,” he lamented, calling for “waging war on war” to “stop (it)”.
In a press release, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its part recalled that “constant support for Ukraine must continue” on the part of the international community, in particular “by increasing the pressure of economic sanctions” on Moscow.
“Help to our state is today the best investment in peace and sustainable development of all humanity,” reads the ministry’s website.
