A remark that hit home. This Friday, January 5, Emmanuel Macron presided over an official tribute to Jacques Delorsbroadcast live from the courtyard of the Hôtel des Invalides, on France 2. The former Minister of the Economy and President of the European Commission died on December 27 “at his Parisian home in his sleep”as Martine Aubry, his daughter, indicated in a press release. In homage to the one who “never tired of exploring to reconcile”to quote the Head of State, relatives and European political figures gathered this Friday to pay tribute to the memory of Jacques Delors.
After noting Emmanuel Macron’s slight delay during the live broadcast of the tribute, journalist Julian Bugier wanted to highlight the “particular context” in which the event – which brought together all members of the Government – took place. Or a hypothetical ministerial reshuffle, rumors of which are growing day by day. Columnist Nathalie Saint-Cricq took the opportunity to provide details: “It’s a sort of open secret. We were told that it was going to accelerate today and Monday. There are a certain number of people who will no longer be ministers quite quickly, so for whom it will be their last tribute”, she explained.
