In 2012, Gad Elmaleh realized one of his childhood dreams: to shoot a film alongside Sophie Marceau, what’s more, a romantic comedy, entitled Happiness Never Comes Alone. Invited to remember this moment in his life on the set of It’s yours on France 5 this Monday, March 11, Charlotte Casiraghi’s ex admitted to having fallen under the spell of the beautiful actress very early on. “I of course saw La Boum like everyone else, […] and I was crazy about Sophie Marceau when I was a kid, she was my lover!” he confided. “When thirty years later I was asked to make a film with her, I made this joke to the producer, I said to him: ‘Listen, I don’t know where she is in our story, but I’m all in ‘”added the 52-year-old actor with humor, making the show’s columnists laugh.
If, for his part, Gad Elmaleh was torn between professional admiration and personal affection, the actor and comedian recognizes that, for Sophie Marceau, the collaboration was only professional: “I was very excited to film with her, and I broke down in fact, I completely broke down, but she didn’t at all, she was doing her job,” said Noé and Raphaël’s dad, concluding with a touch of irony that characterizes him: “There were two films being shot: there was the film for production, and the film that I had in my head.”

During the filming of the film Happiness Never Comes Alone, Sophie Marceau and Gad Elmaleh shared real friendly love at first sight. Following their collaboration, Gad Elmaleh did not hesitate to praise his partner, affirming that she was “unique”and going so far as to compare her to Audrey Hepburn. “I had a great meeting with Marceau”he confided to Figaro. In an interview given to Madame FigaroSophie Marceau had for her part admitted that the actor had offered her “his best laugh”adding: “Laughter is the sexiest thing a man can give me”. This alchemy which also manifested itself off camera, as recalled by the eternal Vic in the film The party during an interview with Konbini in August 2021: “We laughed a lot between takes!”
