A project that he intends to defend. This Monday, December 4, Bruno Le Maire was the guest of the show C to you, broadcast on France 5. As soon as he arrived on the set, the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty put on the table the different proposals considered in order to reduce the country’s debt. One of them concerns the increase in the deductible for medicines. “I think it needs to be implemented. I will say things clearly to our compatriots: where do we want to put the money?”, launched the husband of Pauline Le Maire. Before developing: “The franchise on medicines, and we are major consumers of medicines in France, has been 50 euro cents since 2008. I propose that we raise it from 50 cents to one euro, while maintaining the ceiling of 50 eurosand I am very keen on it, for those who have long-term illnesses, who suffer from Alzheimer’s and who have long-term illnesses”.
By implementing this increase, Bruno Le Maire believes that this will make it possible to bring in “a billion euros in savings from 2024”. “I came here to defend ideas and convictions. (…). You have to have the courage to put them on the table by saying: ‘Here, we assume that on medicines the deductible was 50 cents it will be one euro. This allows the country to get out of debt, reduce the deficit and invest elsewhere”, he proclaimed with a firm tone. Faced with this little dig, Patrick Cohen’s sidekick couldn’t help but question the politician about the Prime Minister. “Does that mean that Elisabeth Borne will lack courage if she doesn’t follow your lead?”, she asked the father. The response, brief but explicit, was not long in coming. “I hope she follows her”, concluded Bruno Le Maire with mischief. All is said.
