Eurovision is “no”. Sunday November 26, Zoé Clauzure, representing France, won the junior edition of the European competition. The day before, Hélène Ségara spoke about the adult version of the competition, which she declined twice. It was in We’re doing TV againon RTL. Facing presenter Éric Dussart, the 52-year-old singer explained that Luxembourg and Switzerland had offered to represent them during her career. Recalling, however, that this had not been the case of France. And if the interpreter ofThere are too many people who love you preferred to refuse the offers, it is for a particular reason. Namely stress.
“Actually, I’m too much of a stalker.”, confided the artist. And to explain: “Me, when I do a concertmy heart is so 3,000 [lors de] the first song that I can screw up. I need two or three songs to calm down.” Before continuing: “I don’t take painkillers, so I still have to calm down by breathing. […] Eurovision, we have three minutes, we have the whole world watching us so if you mess up, you’re dead forever.” However, according to the artist, this opportunity would have made his grandfather happy. For this big fan of the competition created in 1956, the family even put the 45 rpm Save Your Kisses for Me of Brotherhood of Man – who won the competition in 1976 under the colors of Sweden – in his coffin.
“He goes because he likes a challenge”
For the 68th edition of the competition, which will take place next May in Malmö, Slimane was chosen. With the song My love, the singer will represent France. And this, to the great pleasure of Hélène Ségara. “I love his voice, I love this guy and then I think this song is very beautiful and I think that France will win if there is no politics in Eurovision”, analyzed the multi-awarded artist. And to continue: “Slimane is also the tracking type and he goes there because he likes a challenge.”
With the right dose of humor that has always characterized her, the singer then said, regarding her friend’s stress management: “It’s the drug! Maybe he’s on drugs! I don’t know. I don’t know how he does it.”
